Module was created in 2003 by Award Winning Wellington-based New Zealand Multi-instrumentalist/Producer Jeramiah Ross. He performs and records a variety of musical styles from electro, downtempo, ambient, classical and synthesizer-based compositions, taking full advantage of the advances in modern audio software. He has been involved music since he was four years old with classical piano, playing different instruments in bands during his teens and various studio session work in his early 20s. Recently Jeramiah has branched into video game soundtracks and sound design.

Module History

Jeramiah Ross created Module as a solo recording project in 2003. After his first two single releases, Module joined forces with Rhian Sheehan and began touring around New Zealand and Australia. During this time he was signed to New Zealand based record label LOOP Recordings and released his debut double album Remarkable Engines with the bonus Piano disk Movement which sold moderately well. One track from his album What it seems was picked up by 'Positivitly Wellington Tourism' as the theme music for the widely popular Have a love affair with Wellington campaign, which received hi rotate for over three years on nationwide television and radio. Rhian Sheehan and Module went on to tour for two years, performing at many festivals from Rainbow Serpent, Splore and countless performances around New Zealand and Australia.

In 2006 Jeramiah joined Fly My Pretties and performed his own acoustic piano compositions "Oh Fair Moonlight" and "Rain" for 16 sell-out shows around New Zealand theaters cumulating in the release of a CD/DVD which sold over 10,000 copies in New Zealand. In one of the last performances for Fly My Pretties he played "Rain" in the Auckland Town Hall on the 3 story high pipe organ.

In 2006 he independently released a full-length free ambient album Dreams for the sleepless on archive.org which has had over 11,000 downloads.

Between 2006 to 2009 Module toured New Zealand performing hundreds of shows at bars and festivals with both his Electronic and Classical Music.

In 2008 Module Left LOOP recordings and became an Independent Artist with a new publishing deal with Mushroom Publishing.

In 2008 he independently released Pattern dot life version 1.0 which is a 3 part internet based musical project with part 1 being a free live 13 track album recorded in October 2008 and open source remix packs. Part 2 is produced versions of Part 1 along with featured user remixes and part 3 a new live recording sometime in the future. http://www.patterndotlife.co.nz. 2008 also saw module produce singles and remixes for NZ Band 'Charlie Ash'

2009 Module worked with Wellington's Sidhe Interactive on an original 15 track soundtrack for the ps3 game Shatter along with most of the in game sound design. Shatter was released on the PlayStation Network July the 23rd 2009. Shatter The Game & the Video Game Soundtrack has been receiving high worldwide praise scoring 9.5 on IGN. the soundtrack was released on bandcamp as a free live stream and mp3 digital download on July 24, 2009 receiving over 100,000 hits in 2 weeks, http://www.sidhe.bandcamp.com Shatter has gone on to win many awards and best video soundtrack of 2009 with many outlets.

Present

Currently Jeramiah works full time at Sidhe Interactive as the in-house Composer and Sound designer and has worked on several hi-profile video games for PS3 and iOS.

He is involved in a project called Immram - Voyage of the Corvus Corrone as a Music Producer. The project appears to be a full length album with a 64 page book released by Escape Artist Recordings in June 2011. He is also involved as a co-producer in another project called "The Blush Response"

Module Live

Module uses computers, samplers, and synthesizers in his live performances, using PC computers running Ableton Live, a Novation SL,Korg x-50, MS2000 and various outboard hardware to re-create his studio recordings. He splits up his songs into numbers which are triggered from a MIDI Keyboard, along with performing live keyboard parts on top, playing guitar and using various forms of vocal processing. He does not DJ and he performs only his own music, making him closer to a one man band. He also performs his solo piano works. He makes use of VJ's and design elements within his performances, creating a MIDI Synced visual/audio show using modul8, Resolume. Recently Module has been working with musician's to create a live band interpretation of his music.
